Norton 2010 detects it as medium risk and automatically quarantines it based on Insight Network reputation score. It must be a FP since the installer is new.

@ Avinash
How much is the memory usage when Idle and during scan?
AvinashR
May 15th, 2010, 04:48 AM
During Idle, GDATA IS 2011 was eating about 57 MB of Memory
And during full scanning it was using about 125 MB of memory....
Tested on Win XP Pro SP 3, 640 MB RAM

Hi AvinashR,
did you scan the files a second time?
G Data´s fingerprinting technology works very well - you should get better results on further scans.

True, it gets a lot faster in consecutive scans xD

is there a date when the dutch version will be released?

Because, it usually downloads a few mb's of the video first, then after downloading and scanning it starts playing. Which usually is like 30 seconds -1 minute lost ;D
But still G-Data is one of my preferred AV's. :)

In looking at G-Data's website, I notice that they have another product called "G-Data TotalCare 2011" that also offers backup and "security tuning." Does anybody happen to know what exactly that feature is?

Gdata Total Care is full fledged suite. It provides backup and recovery(Same as tune-up undelete)
Security Tuning means it checks vulnerabilities of your system
I hope your understood:)

Thanks. I understood what the backup was, of course, but "security tuning" could have meant several different things. Thanks for the clarification. ;)

Yeah i have noted it...it gets lot faster in consecutive scan...:)
But if you execute a malware and quarantined it on the basis of BB and than scan your system than again you'll find that it takes a lot of time to scan your files...

Does it takes time to scan those files that that unknown malware was trying to infect or the entire files in your comp??

I downloaded G-Data Internet Security 2011 last night to give it a try for 30 days. So far, it seems to run a lot lighter overall than Zonealarm Extreme Security 2010 did -- even though it has two antivirus drivers.
I do have a question about the firewall. What do you all think of it? I have it set to "Maximum Security," but it still won't pass the "Shields Up" test. And I'm not even using a router -- I'm connecting directly to a cable modem. Even Windows Vista Firewall when I was running it with Windows 7 Firwall Control Free was able to pass.
I know this test isn't everything, but you would think that a firewall set on Maximum Security could pass, wouldn't you?
Just curious what your impression of the firewall is...

For now the german and english versions are the only one available, but looking at last year's release I would expect it any moment now.
