Spyware Guard didn't dectect Gator

I do a training class on Spyware and recommend Spyware Blaster highly. I wanted to test Spyware Guard so I installed SpywareGuard and then installed precision-time. The program did not alert me or do anything to stop me from installing it. Should it have?
