Prevx 3.0 with SafeOnline build 3.0.5.136

As always, you can download it from http://info.prevx.com/download.asp?grab=edgebeta for 32bit/64bit new installations or from http://info.prevx.com/download.asp?grab=edgebeta64 for a manual upgrade for a 64bit installation or if you are already using the Beta/RC you can check via the GUI "Check for Updates" bottom right corner.

Your welcome! I thought I would start a new thread as the Test version didn't go out to everyone! We will have to wait for Joe to come by and and give us the change log! ;)

Are you sure it's not on top of the window? Make the window smaller to see if it's there?

Hello all :)
Here is the changelog for the newest beta within Prevx:

- (PSO) Fixed some issues blocking unknown programs from rendering icons properly
- (P30) Fixed some issues uninstalling all drivers without requiring a reboot
- (PSO) Fixed an issue on some x64 PCs running Chrome
- (PSO) Fixed an issue identifying URLs on some Firefox instances
- (PSO) Fixed compatibility with the Google Toolbar
- (PSO) Fixed compatibility with CCleaner
- (PSO) Fixed compatibility with Kaspersky Pure
- (PSO) Added support for credential protection messages under UAC
- (PSO) Automatic credential protection is now only applied in registered versions (to prevent getting the user locked into a scenario where they can't add the same password to multiple websites)

Let me know if you find anything else! We will be having another beta release out within the next day or so which has a few further fixes for x64 PCs and I'll post an update here as soon as it's ready.

Thanks again for the testing :thumb:

Auto scan just started and saw it wasn't scanning so I opened the GUI and at this time still not scanning over 4mins so far! And I tried to Cancel the scan and it will not stop! I installed 3.0.5.136 and reboot and did a manual scan and that went fine and then 5min later Auto-Scan came on with no files being scanned! And now 10 min has gone by scan still not stopped!!

It may be worth trying to reboot your PC - this could happen if a firewall or something else has blocked the connection to the Prevx database (that is what occurs when Prevx initially starts the scan).

Let me know if it re-occurs after a reboot though and I'll take a closer look :)

You know that you can move the Tab window to where you want it? If not open Tab and drag the Tab window to place the tab where you want it!

I installed via the GUI Check for Updates and Look'n'Stop notified that Prevx has changed and I always let it and did a scan and all was fine then I did a reboot and did another On-Demand scan without problems but then Auto-Scan started and seen it was stalled but did as you said rebooted to stop the scan and ATM doing a On-Demand scan and all is fine I will wait till the next Auto-Scan to see if all is fine as I have it set to show window when scanning!

I understand that the PrevX database cannot cover every application out there, but how can an application I have installed for more than six month and which I use every day be "unknown" to PrevX? It is scanned every day and sometimes even multiple times a day, so it must be "known" to PrevX (on the other hand, the 81.000 other files PrevX scans over and over again during its "Quick scans" must be known too)? So, are these applications really "unknown" or do you just consider it to be unsafe because it is not widely used?

Thanks very much - good to see UAC support. Did you ever solve the autoupdate problem under UAC?

You must have 3.0.5.130 as the latest Official Release installed. It won't autoupdate from that to a Beta version as I understand it. You need to install manually if you want the beta version. But if you have no problem, you can stick with 3.0.5.130. The new stuff will likely go in the next official release anyway (which you can get by autoupdate).

By "unknown" we mean not completely trusted (i.e. whitelisted) - it is more of a generic problem, however, which has now been fixed :)
