Not sure whether to post this here - plse. move if necessary.
-{ Quote: "Steve,
I was converted to Apple products with the announcement of the iPhone 3G. (My friends have been trying to convince me for years.) Since then I’ve purchased 4 iPhones, 2 computers, several routers, and miscellaneous other items. Unfortunately, I’m really starting to have a philosophical issue with your company. It appears that more and more Apple is determining for it’s consumers what content they should be able to receive. For instance, the blocking of Mark Fiore’s comic app (due to being political satire) or blocking of what Apple considers to be porn.
I’m all for keeping porn out of kids hands. Heck – I’m all for ensuring that I don’t have to see it unless I want to. But… that’s what parental controls are for. Put these types of apps into categories and allow them to be blocked by their parents should they want to.
Apple’s role isn’t moral police – Apple’s role is to design and produce really cool gadgets that do what the consumer wants them to do.
Thanks for listening
-Matthew" }-

Fiore’s app will be in the store shortly. That was a mistake. However, we do believe we have a moral responsibility to keep porn off the iPhone. Folks who want porn can buy and Android phone." }-

So Jobs not only cripples your web usage (No Flash, and Adobe publicly stated yesterday they quit trying to get Flash on the iPhone), he also decides what you can and can't see. I think he missed his calling to be in government.

Would never buy any of this overpriced hyped stuff from Apple. Really not crazy enough to pay 2x the price that competitive products are offered at and get half of the feature the competitive products can offer, plus Jobs telling me what can I use the product for. See, Steve, it's that simple - the people have paid for it, it's theirs to use it, for moral or immoral, legal or illegal activities. Their purchased product, listen once again. And their responsibility, not yours.
And - as a side note, but important one: imagine Apple had the market share that MS has. With attitude they've shown so far many, many times - just imagine that. Apple is one of the most slimy vendors out there.

We haven't been able to use products how we want to for years really. We buy music, movies, cell phones, you name it, and they all come with threats about who is going to do what to us if we so much as inch to the left or right of their lengthy can and can't do agreements. And, the bigger issue is that it's never going to stop until people quit buying them. Apple for sure is one of the slimier, if not slimiest vendors. And worse, they flaunt their attitude, not hide it.
Given the recent developments in the developer agreement for apps to be used on the iPhone and iPad, I foresee a lot of app developers leaving Apple behind and developing for Android and what have you. Eventually these guys and gals are going to get tired of the rules changing every couple months on the whim of Steve and say enough is enough.

Yes, absolutely... Quit buying the stuff, don't do any business with them.
Also, for the funny bit - the local legislation here allows you to download movies and music from internet, even if you don't own a copy (of the CD/DVD/whatever). OTOH, making a backup copy of the media you own is illegal as long as there's any "protection" used on the media (that includes even such as completely ineffective and defunct ones CSS). Well, so... as you wish, guys. I'm downloading legally from Internet, no money for you. You wanted your protection, here you have it.
Frankly, I'm not even downloading that much lately, since I usually ended up deleting the stuff after watching/listening to it once (not even the complete thing sometimes - since the quality sucks lately, big time. Creativity seems to have lost in the hunt for $$$$$$$ :thumbd: )

Apple is not compatible with me and generally I avoid talking about it. But Steve's words sound more porn than a Marc Dorcel's film. I haven't touched anything Apple since my university days of the early 90's.
This sort of crap only reinforces my desire that this prohibition continues.

Screw Jobs and Apple. I dont buy technology because it looks cool or because it's "hip". I buy it for functionality, ease of use, and it's capabilities. I bought a Droid last month and i can honestly say that it is the best peice of technology i have purchsed in the last 5-10 years. Im in I.T. and our sales guys convinced the owner that they needed iPhones. they've been a thorn in our side ever since. Now that our I.T. director has seen what android can do we will slowly but surely be migrating to android based phones. thank god we wont have to deal with iTunes anymore.;D

That's right. I agree, that is also why I've chosen Cowon quality over Apple iMarketing Crap of the products for the masses.
