i tested spyshelter today with many leaktests and some commerical keyloggers.
ver3.2 has some problem but with ver3.3 it is more powerfull.
they added ZE (Zemana Extreme Leak Test Runner) Protection, Some new clipboard protection methods (Alpin Simulation cant bypass ver 3.3)
i will test it with more commerical keyloggers, soon.

i sent report to Spyshelter
They controlled and accepted, They said that about ecodsoft clipboard test "we need up to 72 hours to make update but first need to analyze this method"

Thankful

Designed very similar to Zemana with anti-keylogger and system defense module. It would be interesting to test the system defense module against 0 day malware. This is where the real value lies.

Considering how fast people test and change programs here, that's a lifetime (licence). ;) :P

I'll make one short comment & then desist from further participation in this thread.
TO WIT: Lock down outbound connections (via HIPS or Firewall or Network Monitor) & real-time, special-purpose, antikeylog apps are superfluous.

Very nice testing.
I wonder if you could test some more applications for a comparison, like DW, GesWall, CFP, etc.

Test it with an API fuzzer and enjoy some nice BSODs. ::)

@ maymoons
I assume you installed Spyshelter first and then the Keyloggers.
If so, have you tested any the other way round?
Cos many Anti-Keyloggers fail terribly if the Keylogger was installed first, especially against the one with drivers.
Cheers

i know so i make test with another way.
1. install spyshelter
2. close spyshelter protection
3. install keylogger
4. run keylogger, activate spying, change settings "run with windows" (and activate stealth mode if it has)
5. restart machine

Just did one quick test with your method with Ultimate Keylogger and XP SP3.
SpyShelter failed to block the recording of page visited, so UKL was also able to record search strings.

I have no clue if SpyShelter should protect against this, even there is this AntiNetworkSpy module with its description "It blocks HTTP/HTTPS logging..."
Cheers

v3.3 hasnt got this protection. i didnt test http/https logging.
:) you are lucky because when i was sleeping, v3.5 released. i didnt test ver3.5, i tested v3.3
Now, on web site say v3.5 released, they has new module called as internet security;
-{ Quote: "Internet security
SpyShelter AntiNetworkSpy protactive module prevents dangerous trojans from stealing your private information while important SSL internet transactions. It also blocks HTTP/HTTPS trojans on user level as well as POP,SMTP,FTP, loggers." }-
i will test this function
But my previosly test about key/clipboard/screen activites log
İf you test spyshelter with ultimate keylogger, spyshelter can easly block ul. keylogger.
AntiNetworkSpy is a new function, it looks like zemana anti-ssl logger function but more powerfull. it has also anti -http, pop, smtp, ftp logger protection. But i didnt test.

Just downloaded the installer from the website and overlooked the different versions. :P
However, SpyShelter did not even prevent the logging of sites (search strings included) with 3.5.
I have also tried nasty Elite Keylogger from WideStep and this was strange.
Nothing worked as expected till I removed the SpyShelter driver manually.
Don't know if it's a conflict or the AntiKernelModeLogger from SpyShelter, but Elite Keylogger was not even able to save its settings. :doubt:

Now, i finished my test.
i tested SS with about 60 commerical keylogger and 6 popular leak test.
it is good app, easy to use and effective.
You can verify all tests with SS v3.53, you can download all commerical keyloggers from softpedia.
i test this software for myself, I will not test more commercial keyloggers. In ahead i will test it with real malwares which i form with RAT tools.
This is full test report;

Maymoons, since you proved to be an excellent tester, I wonder if you could find the time to test some other antikeyloggers too?
I am particularly interested to see shoulder to shoulder comparison of Zemana AntiLogger, PrivacyKeyboard and DataGuard Antikeylogger Ultimate.

I have checked out SpyShelter in a virtual machine, just to see what all the buzz was about, but the first thing I noticed that this is a popup HIPS (just like Zemana AntiLogger if I´m correct)? If so, this is very disappointing, I mean any classical HIPS can do this. I´m more interested in "no questions asked" antiloggers, like for example KeyScrambler or Prevx SafeOnline (which only protects the browser, I´m not sure if that´s good enough).

its look same concept as zemana was at its first stage.

@ maymoons
Can you perhaps clarify how you performed these tests? Because like I said before, SpyShelter doesn´t seem to be able to automaticly block key/screenloggers, so did you block all these keyloggers by clicking on the "deny" button, when they are trying to load a hook or driver, for example? :what:
maymoons
April 14th, 2010, 06:21 PM
sure, i click deny button if ss alert me. (after restart-No:5)
it just ask blabla.exe want to record key (like zemana)
ss hasnt got blacklist, it cant block automaticly. But it has whitelist, some apps can "load a hook or driver" without asking (for example; prevx on whitelist)
if you ask me, i tested it like you want
but it is not necessary, i dont recommend to close SS or Zemana or any other security software
