Hello Joe,

Thanks to yesterday's remote session SafeOnline works now in Opera but I have noticed still one problem.

When I open a few web pages in IE8 and I browse them Prevx identify immediately each webpage I visit. For instance let's say I have opened 3 web pages in the following sequence:
1. prevx.com
2. symantec.com
3. eset.com
When I go to prevx.com and click on Prevx icon, the page is identified immediately, then switching (Ctrl + Tab) to symantec.com and clicking on Prevx icon, the page is also immediately identified. The same happens for another webpage regardless how many webpages is opened in IE8.

The same scenario in Opera 10.51 but SafeOnline identifies only the last loaded webpage, i.e. eset.com but when I switch to prevx.com SafeOnline still shows identification of eset.com. I have to open a few links on prevx.com to let SafeOnline identify prevx.com. The same story when switching to symantec.com, SafeOnline still shows identification of eset.com. In short, SafeOnline remains stuck to the last loaded webpage. Sometimes it lasts several seconds up to minutes than SafeOnline correctly identify shown webpage but sometimes it goes faster. I don't have a clue why it is happening. Maybe SafeOnline in Opera is somehow lazy in identification :-).

I tried to exclude prevx.exe in NIS but to no avail.

BTW, apart this small problem SafeOnline works greatly in Opera 10.51 ;-).

Can you something do to get the same identification speed like getting in IE8?

Thx again,
pegas

Can you see if clicking on the page itself causes it to refresh faster? (Not on a link but in the blank area in the page?) Not entirely sure why it would be delayed there but I'll take a look and see if I can reproduce anything here in my Opera installation :)

Can you let me know exactly how you're switching tabs in Opera (i.e. keyboard/clicking/etc.)? That should help me get to the bottom of it quickly!

I tried it and it looks that clicking on the page itself doesn't make any difference to identify the page faster than clicking on a link. It is probably equal.

I am switching tabs using mouse as well as keyboard (Ctrl+Tab) and it also seems that it doesn't matter on the identification speed.

You can always trust in my support ;)

Hello Joe!
Updated to .106 today and it seems that a progress has been definitely made. Now the identification is as quick as I quickly catch to hover over any link on a page. So it means when switching tabs and immediately there hovering over links SO tab with info is recovered quickly.
Guessing you are very close to the final solution, can you do that last leap?
Thx,
pegas

IMPORTANT UPDATE: switching between pages and letting them intact, i.e. NOT hovering over links causes that Prevx info isn't recovered at all !!! also clicking on a page itself doesn't load updated info. It seems that only hovering over links or clicking on them brings updated identification info in Prevx tab.

Good! No I am kidding :P . I know at least that it is not an anomaly on my PC but rather a bug. Yeah, Joe's help is needed ;D

;D Definitely good to have corroboration of the issue. I'm testing here on a new image and new Opera + Prevx installation and will hopefully have some information shortly!

Hello all :)
I've reproduced the Opera inconsistency here with switching tabs - it is a somewhat non-trivial issue as Opera support is generally a bit flaky within Prevx but we'll have it sorted soon! :thumb:

Yes I know and keeping up with all the Browser Updates for the supported ones as some change almost Bi-weekly and monthly! And now you have to get them to work for x64 machines that's allot of maintenance to keep up with! :o

Opera is indeed a very good browser, and thet certainly don't sit still when making changes ;D Our goal, as always, is to be fully compatible with all builds - I will be giving 10.52 a test this weekend as well! :)

Just to let you know about new Opera snapshot http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/2010/03/26/snapshots-for-everyone. The final release is looming, guessing it will go out within next week.
