Hi folks,
I am curious to find out what some of you do to handle the following situation. I have been asked by my manager to cleanup old mailboxes here at my company. We are running Exchange 2007 and have quite a few mailboxes to purge.
My manager wants to archive all the old mailboxes before removing them. The only way I know how to do this is to export them all to pst files, and then back them up. My questions are.
1. Is there a way to do a mass amount of them at once vs. by user? Would have to go by maybe OU groupings?
2. Once I have the pst files, I can back them up to tape. However tapes degrade over time. I also thought of an external USB HDD. However what happens when that fails?
3. What if any archiving tools do you use in your environment(s)?
That's all for now. Comments and more questions welcome.
Thanks.
