All about the TWITS ! Lol . I am not a TWIT because I do not care who does what on a daily basis . Interesting SunBelt chose Twitter and nothing else . If you trust that Vipre is strong enough , I a with Victek123 on this . Excellent deal if Vipre is something you want

Free Subscription .... But no mention for how long ?? Could be 2 months, could be 3 yrs :D
My guess is the subscription duration given will depend on the number of followers you have on TW.

I scanned (on demand only) my 407 summer samples. After cleaning, 39 remained. Not too bad. Avast some months ago, had left about 18 or a bit less.
In comparison MBAM left 51 items.

I see VIPRE is 64 bit compatible while the current firewall is not. Since VIPRE 4incorporates a firewall (I am assuming Sunbelt's) will VIPRE 4 be 64 bit compatible?
edit- nevermind- looks like their forums say yes to 64 bit support through Windows 7.

I've been using Vipre now for over a month, I'm very happy with it running in silent mode and it's just so light etc.

Just a small note about the Vipre 4 Beta. I am giving it a trial run and I usually download known malware and a rogue that most antiviruses will miss on scanning. I tried to do the same with Vipre 4 and it wouldn't even let me access the websites where the baddies reside. lol. :thumb: It also caught a trojan in a questionalble download that my other defenses missed. Super light on Windows 7 64 bit. I am really impressed with Vipre.
Best of luck to the Vipre team.

They currently offer a single, double or home site type license. Unless they change the way the licenses are issued then my guess would be it will be a single license!

depends how many emails theyre getting, so it may not be instant, as with other license give aways, they can take some time, look back at the last Zonealarm one that took quite a while.

well its a standard warning not run two av/fw in real time....but prevx has an on execution scanning so it happily co-exists with other resident av/as..i think it would/should be okay with vipre too

I was wondering if you are required to have people following your twitter site to qualify for this? I have an account set up, following Sunbelt and posted their advertisement on my page. I really did this to get the free software and I have nobody of yet following my tweets or lack of. :D I just hope they aren't too picky on the details and disqualify me on technical grounds.
They should send them out today or tomorrow. Sort of the same deal with the Zonealarm offers. Wait, wait and more wait. I do that every night when I'm at work.

There is no option to create IP based rules. Currently, you can only create rules based on the specific application and specific ports. I believe IP based rules are planned to be included in one of the next updates. Our development team is already hard at work on the next update which will include some improvements and new features.

Results on this tend to differ from system to system. As you've seen from other posts here, most people don't have any trouble with this. On some systems I've seen complaints of slowdowns but this can be expected when running multiple real-time protections which is why we don't usually suggest this.

I have just installed this, from the twitter offer, and find it conflicts with other real time av or malware progs. This is disappointing as I don't trust one company to be in complete charge of my security.
The guys at VIPRE have told me they have no intention of making it compliant with any other real time security programme and "assured" me VIPRE was all I'd ever need!
This has me a little worried, even though VIPRE seems to be working well at the moment!

Do you have 2 anti virus softwares installed at the same time?

You should not be running any other Real Time Anti-Viruses alongside VIPRE. Running two Anti-Viruses of any sort will create conflicts with each other. If you want to run another Real Time Anti-Malware application such as Malwarebytes Pro, that is fine as it is not an Anti-Virus.

No I do not run 2 avs.
I wanted to run an independent anti malware programme(I was leaning toward A Squared.)

Can you say specifically which program(s) were in conflict with Vipre on your system?

There was a conflict with Prevx(facebook version) and after checking with vipre I was told not to run any real time av or am progs. Therefore I haven't tried to install A Squared or Malwarebytes.I would like to have a second protection though.
On my work system I have stuck with a squared and the free avira along with prevx and there are no conflicts so it appears to be a Vipre issue.

That's interesting since Prevx gets along with most everything. I'm not running Vipre at the moment, but perhaps there's an option to exclude Prevx in case that's the cause? Sometimes anti-malware programs have to be configured to not monitor each other to avoid conflicts.

Please see the following post from PrevxHelp. Hopefully this will solve your issues between Vipre and Prevx. :thumb:

Thanks for the info.
The amended settings have allowed Prevx to work with vipre.
Thanks to all those who took time reading and assisting me with this issue.
