what has ACTUALLY CHANGED?

Am I missing something here? :-\

Could the OP provide some more detailed information, so as to clarify his point.?

You can turn the "splash" screen off so it would not have an adverse effect.

Mine is turned off, so I don't see any slowdown at that point in loading.

He probably means the start-up scan, which could already be altered if its causing too much slow downs in some cases. What actually is changed in this version can be looked up in the sticky thread (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=68) .
