can i turn off windows defender?

i have vista 64bit and currently im using avira premium w/o firewall, threatfire sensitivity level 4, and aqsuared anti malware. is it safe to turn off windows defender or just best to leave it on?

You have more than enough protection there without it. You could turn it off and be safe.
