The search engine, been using it for a while with https, but sometimes I have to go back to google as ixquick doesn't yield the same results. Are there any alternatives with both security and results?.

Since my surfing IP is not my ISP-given IP (thank you, XeroBank and OpenVPN), I don't fret about using Google/Bing. In the end, I guess I don't trust any providers of any services, esp. not "cloud" solutions providers... so I give them Steve T.'s IP. ;-)

It's normal that Ixquick results are different. If you don't want to give up on your privacy, try to refine the search in Ixquick to get better results. Check this link to see the syntax used: http://www.ixquick.com/eng/power-search-techniques.html

iZito (http://www.izito.com/) is my second choice of searcher (meta searcher), but this is not a searcher that promises to keep your privacy, I only use it to get a second opinion.

I'm trying to understand using https. If I use this search engine with https, this means that no one, including my ISP can see the search terms or search results?

I use clusty. It promises to protect your privacy and it doesn't require a cookie. There is no filter unless you want one. Has anyone tried CLUSTY?
