Hi,
When i used 'save protection list' in PG 2.0 ....
What is the fastes way to restore this file into PG after a disk-crash
are a reinstall ?

Is it possible to use Copy and Paste? (sorry, i could not find that)

An i don't like the idea, that after a re-install, i have to manually add
ALL the lines again. :)

Hi unixmagic :).

To make a backup of your Program Protection settings, you will need to copy the file pguard.dat which is in the c:\windows\system32 folder. You will have to disable Process Guard to be able to copy it though, as it is protected....booting into Safe-Mode is the best and easiest way to do it.

To boot into Safe-Mode:

>Reboot your machine.
>Just after your BIOS screen disappears keep pressing the F8 key and a menu should appear.
>Select "Safe Mode" and press Enter.

Regards,
Jade.

oke, thanks,

But where is 'save protection list' for then?

Only to have it human readable ?

import or restore of this file would be nice, it is better then going to save mode etc. perhaps that is an idea for PG's future versions.

But thanks, for the help !, i know now which file to backup.

I agree with you, unixmagix.

An import/export feature for pguard.exe would be most useful. I suggested this before, but it didn't make the list I guess.
