How safe is Roboform?

I have a fairly complicated master password - so that feels good. Loggers who read the desktop will be stopped by Defensewall and Antivir from sending pictures home - I hope.

When Roboform writes the password to the site - can any kind of logger snap it up? Visually its just dots, but can they snap the actual letters and numbers? I dont understand how RF writes the password so I dont know if it can be picked up.

AES key length depends on Master Password key length:
* 128 bit for MP less than 32 chars,
* 192 bit for MP from 32 to 47 chars,

Encryption by Master Password
You can protect all your Identities and Passcards with the Master Password thus making them inaccessible to unauthorized users and unreadable by hackers even if they are stolen. We use AES encryption for increased protection.

Defeats Keyloggers
When RoboForm enters the saved password into form fields, it is not typing them through keyboard, so if a keylogger is installed on your computer and it is monitoring keyboard events for passwords, it will get no keyboard clicks when you use RoboForm to enter passwords.

Auto-Logoff
You can ask RoboForm to purge cached Master Password from memory after a specified period of inactivity.

Yeah that was from the website. As for personal experiance I haven't used it. Purge means that it will remove the master password from the cache in your browser. It sounds pretty secure and the fact that your not typing the password makes it good for keyloggers. Unless of course its the type that takes screen shots as well. The good thing that is has a high level of encryption. Thats a good thing.

I have been using Roboform now for several years without any compromising of data.
I also use their online backup, which is again highly encrypted.
I actually feel safer using it than not.
Another good application that I use is from my bank, which is trusteer rapport. I get it free from the Natwest site.
It is free (upto 50 sites) and works similarly to prevx safeonline, which is one bit of software that has not worked properly for me.

Only the prevx safeonline. I don't think you even have to be a Natwest customer to download rapport, you can find the correct page on a google search.

Running RoboForm with Keyscrambler Premium, no issue so far.

No problem running with Sandboxie.

RoboForm has a tool to generate password.

You can check the strength of password (Bit Strength).

RF does not work with Opera.
I use RF in Firefox and IE8 with Sandboxie with no problems.
I have Keyscrambler, which works with RF, but I don't use it often.
Remember to write down your master password and all of your individual passwords so that you have them in case you experience a visit from Mr. Murphy, who developed Murphy's law, which states that whatever can go wrong will go wrong at the worst possible time.
