processguard for win98se

yes there are some still using the old stuff heavon forbid......
but before i go any further i do run processguard on my web server 2003
and on my other 2 xp machines however i cant seem to find my copy of processguard which runs with the win98 all i have is for the newer o/s
Q) does anyone know where i can obtain the older verision of PG
that runs on the win 95 98 se platforms.

any info would be appreciated....

the reason why I am using this old machine is that my main PC
seems to be a magnet for dropping the bios regardless of board
manufacturer thesame happened to my easybuddy cant understand it
why this continues to happen those machines on the network ran on xp
I have been advised that thereare no bugs that can knock out the BIOS

and wormguard

I do not believe ther is one for that OS version..And if there were,i wouldnt suggest that you buy software for a 12-15 year old OS

As noted, there are no kernel based apps for Win 98. You could try MJ Registry Watcher http://www.jacobsm.com/mjsoft.htm#rgwtchr or WinPatrol http://www.winpatrol.com/ Both look at more than just startup changes (especially Registry Watcher.)

Believe it or not there is/was an anti-executable program comparable to processguard for win98/se/millenium. It was by a Russian team but has been discontinued.

There was a freeware and payware version. The freeware version is the one you want.

I forgot the name of it (maybe another poster knows what I'm talking about), but if I remember I'll edit my post with the name.

Didn't System Safety Monitor support 98 in early versions. Just a thought.

Earlier versions of SSM did indeed support windows98

The free versions of System Safety Monitor work on 98/98SE/ME up to XP-SP2. SP3 breaks it. The last 9X compatible version is 2.0.8.583.

First of all I would like to THANK YOU ALL for your referals....I have downloaded the ssm..... haven't looked at it yet..does anyone know whether this blocks global hooks too.

SSM free does intercept global hooks, then ask you if you want to allow it or not. Not all hooks are malicious. On a 9X system for instance, you'll see alerts for hooks to browseui.dll. If you don't permit these, the file menu won't work. Some apps use hooks as well. Hooks to visual basic DLLs are common.
