Hi All
Where do I get a Bart PE plugin for Paragon Backup & Recovery 10?
I registered on the website and went to knowledge base/update but the Paragon Backup & Recovery 10 is not even mentioned.
Alternatively how do I create a Bart PE CD for BR10 from within the Recovery Media section of the software?
Thanks
Terry

Hello Everyone,
I was able to build the BartPE CD with Drive Backup 9, Hard Disk Manager 2009, Partition Manager 10, Drive Backup 10, and Backup & Recovery Free Edition with the following steps.
Go to
http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/#download
Download and extract the folder to your C: drive.
Download the BartPE plugin:
http://ftp.paragon.eu.com/US/DB/PSG_BartPE.zip
Extract the DB9x folder into your BartPE folder (C:\pebuilder3110a\plugin)
Open Paragon's Program Files folder, and copy everything into the DB9x\files folder
You should now have directories similar to these:
C:\pebuilder3110a\plugin\DB9x\files\bluescrn
C:\pebuilder3110a\plugin\DB9x\files\iso
C:\pebuilder3110a\plugin\DB9x\files\NLS
C:\pebuilder3110a\plugin\DB9x\files\program
.....etc
Delete the bootcd.iso file in the iso folder to save space as the file is not needed.
Open C:\Windows\System32\ and copy the following files to C:\pebuilder3110a\plugin\DB9x\files\program\
qtp-mt334.dll, prgiso.dll and wnaspi32.dll (change your folder view options if you cannot see dll files)
----------------------------------------------
Open db9x.inf with a notepad, and edit:
Name="Paragon Drive Backup 9.x"
to
Name="[name of your Paragon product]"
-----------------------------------------------
Open DB9x_nu2menu.xml with notepad and edit:
Paragon Drive Backup 9.x
to
[name of your Paragon product]
----------------------------------------------
In addition, if you need to support RAID or controllers with the BartPE disk, put the XP/2003 drivers into the "Drivers" folder of BartPE directory.
Run pebuilder.exe, source path to your Windows XP/2003 CD, Create ISO image, and BUILD.
Once inside BartPE, go to GO > RUN > REGEDIT and delete MiniNT
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MiniNT

There is a HTM file in the zip file that explains what to copy to the bartPE. Here is some additional information that may help.

Would it be possible for you to provide a detailed description of the entries that require modification to make DB 10 compatible with BartPE?
I've followed the directions in the plug-in Zip file, including copying the DB10 Program files and the appropriate system32 files, and attempted to make changes to the db9x.INF and DB9x_nu2menu.XML files, thinking that's where the modifications would go. I've also searched these forums and the Paragon website, and haven't found anything that would help.
After burning the BartPE disk, the DB10 (Changed from DB9 by me) menu item was grayed out in BartPE.
I want to try BartPE because The recovery environment included with DB10 can't see my network, so even though I can make backups to the network, I have no method to do a recovery if (WHEN) necessary.

I have edited the DB9 BartPE plugin so that it shows in the menu (using UBCD4Win) but the program doesn't launch. There are no error messages. I have had this before with BartPE plugins which are missing settings and/or registry entries. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you very much!!!
By following your directions, I was able to easily create a disk.
The only things I had to add were drivers specific to my NIC and hard drive controller.
When I tried to make the disk on my own, I completely messed up the directory structure. Your directions very clearly laid out the proper mapping, and it was immediately obvious where I went wrong.
I burned a disk, and it booted the first time, allowing me to access my network (which the ISO included with the product wouldn't do). Also, I was able to run DB 10 with no problem.
It did take me a few minutes to realize that BartPE labeled my local drive's hidden partition as C:, and the WIN7 partition as D: . I hope that won't cause a problem when I do a test restoration from the server to a spare drive.
Again, thanks for the speedy and helpful reply.

Do not forget to delete the MiniNT registry before using the program. What I did instead of manually using regedit was edit the program path to point to launcher.bat and create a launcher.bat with the following:
reg delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MiniNT /f
wait 1
launcher.exe

Reminder that when you're inside the BartPE environment, you have to first delete the miniNT registry key, otherwise the program will not launch. What I've done before was create a batch file and made that a second plugin. The bat file will have something like this:
reg delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MiniNT /f
If you get clever, you can point the first plugin to run the bat file first, and in the bat file, include a command to delete the registry, and then run launcher.exe
-------------------
reg delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MiniNT /f
wait 1
launcher

Thank you for the reminder. I will not try the "clever" approach. I will wait until i'm in Bart'sPE. I will also try it in UBCD4Win which seems to be the latest generation.
Thanks again!

Now it is possible to create an easy vistape plugin with makescript (http://www.boot-land.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=508&st=0&p=3918&#entry3918). ;D
I made a bat like this in the main directory:
----------------------------------
@echo off
start program\launcher.exe
GOTO _end
:_end
endlocal

and pointed makescript to that bat. It made the script in no time.
Paragon_Tommy are those registry values in the bartpe inf really necessary? The program seems to work fine even without them.

I know it was a problem with Drive Backup 9 and required that registry to be deleted prior to running. I haven't tested to see if it works with BR10 or DB10, but I will take your word for it ;D

----
[SetupReg.Addreg]
0x0,"ControlSet001\Control\Nls\Language"
0x1,"ControlSet001\Control

included in the plugin I have to delete the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MiniNT /f
But if I delete them from the dx9.inf the program seems to work like a true portable application. and I do not have to delete the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MiniNT /f
afterwards.

Well, I did a network recovery last night of my Lenovo Z61m with Windows 7, using the BartPE recovery disk I made, with decidedly mixed results.
I hadn't gotten around to automating the removal of the register entry, so I manually removed it before starting Paragon Backup & Recovery 10.
The backup on the network (also made with DB10), was of the entire disk, and it contained two partitions - a hidden system partition, and the C: partition. I also had a differential backup. The initial backup data was about 25 gigs, on a 320 gig drive, and the diff backup was also about the same size. I didn't have another 320 gig drive, so I restored to a spare 120 gig drive, which I reformatted before starting.
I initially had some difficulty figuring out how to do the restore, as I didn't have access to the help system, because it's either not on the recovery disk, or it's web based. I don't know which.
What seemed to work for me was to initially restore the entire disk, which created and populated the system partition, and created the C: partition but did not populate it.
I then restored the C partition data, then restored the Diff backup. I have no idea if this was the right way to do it or not.
After the restoration, which in total took something better than 8 hours, the laptop booted with an error that a DLL for the Leveno Power Manager application was missing. The machine rebooted very slowly, and continues to reboot like an XP machine that's been in use for 2 or 3 years - it takes forever to boot, and applications are slow to load. (By the way, the original Windows 7 installation boots very quickly, and programs load fast. It's only been in use for a couple of weeks. After reinstalling the original hard drive, boot and program run time are normal - it's just slow on the recovered copy.)
I couldn't uninstall the Leveno Power Manager application with the missing DLL- I had to reinstall on top of what was left of it. That took care of the error message, but the machine is still extremely slow to boot.
What could have caused the two problems? Needless to say, loss of data during system recovery is not something I'm pleased with, because if I truly needed to use this recovery I'd always be wondering what else is broken or missing.
The slow booting and loading of programs also greatly concerns me, because I suspect it's indicative of some kind of serious hidden problem.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Gary

Perhaps the system is still populating the pagefile which does take some time and a few reboots. I would leave the computer on for a few hours, restart a couple of times and notice if your speed is back to normal.

This is a pretty complicated process. I needed to do an image restore recently and discovered that the rescue disk I made with Paragon B&R did not "see" my external usb hard drive. I just removed the drive from the enclosure and installed it in the case. Sneaker-Net is still sometimes the best option (or least the easiest).

Sure. This is my (c) copyright simple method.
1 Copy the boot.wim onto the HD.
(boot.wim is in the "sources" folder of the Vista/7 x86 install media)
a) If you have an isohandler, eg PowerISO/MagicISO , pick up the Vista/7 x86 .iso and extract (copy ) the boot.wim onto the HD.
OR:
b) If you don't have an isohandler, put the install dvd in the drive - rt click the dvd drive, select Copy, then Paste onto the HD. The entire contents of the dvd will copy. Move boot.wim out of the "sources" folder - onto the HD.
2.Extract the .wim:
Rename boot.wim to TEST.wim. Extract TEST.wim using eg Universal Extractor (http://legroom.net/software/uniextract), or
7-Zip (http://www.7-zip.org/). You now have a folder called TEST. Look inside it - you may have a folder 1 and a folder 2. The folder containing setup.exe is the one you want. I have assumed you only have a folder 1 in the example below ( If you have a folder 2 and setup.exe is in there - use folder 2 instead )
3. Copy in the required files:
a) Copy the attached .cmd into the TEST\1\sources folder. ( Rename the attached to remove the .txt extension - as always, rt click the downloaded file , Properties>Unblock>Apply>OK )
215304
215305
b) Copy the contents of the PM 2010 free you already have installed into TEST\1\sources folder.
215306
c) Copy these files from your C:\Windows\System32 into TEST\1\Windows\System32 folder.
215308
215307
4. Make a new boot.wim :
Put a copy of Imagex (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/7943-install-windows-7-fast-without-dvd-usb-device.html) into your System32 folder ( e.g. C:\Windows\system32).
Open an elevated command and type:
imagex /boot /compress max /capture E:\TEST\1 E:\boot.wim "Paragon Winpe"
( Replace E above with the drive letter of the partition you extracted the TEST.wim to.).
5. Add the new boot.wim :
a) If you have an isohandler - pick up the original Vista/7 x86 .iso - rt click and Delete the original boot.wim.
Click "Add files" - browse to the new boot.wim . Then click Save As - and select a name for the new.iso
OR:
b) If you don't have an isohandler, you copied all the Windows files to the HD in step 1 - just put the new boot.wim back in the sources folder there.
Then use the free vlite (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/257-windows-7-tutorial-index-3.html#post1076) to make a new.iso.

Continued...
Boot the new dvd /flash.
When you get to the Install Now screen - press Shift+F10 together. A command window opens - type go, then press enter.
To exit, close PM2010, then close the Install Now window - confirm. That's it.
NOTES:
You can boot the new boot.wim directly from the HD to test it first , before making a new dvd/flash.
You can use the same method to add B&R 10 Free ( a couple of tiny extra steps needed ). I have used it to create and restore arc images - and individual files , using the Browse function.
If you already have a Paragon WinPE cd - you should be able to use the same method to add extra drivers permanently to Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository. You can also add extra functions and apps.

I just got Paragon Backup and Recovery 10 "Compact" for FREE recently, which is more than the FREE Version of this program, but not the PAID Suite version either. I decided to write an email to Support at Paragon and simply ask for the BartPE Plugin.
I got the response within a few days and they sent it to me in an email. Since I can't post the ZIP file here, you'll have to do the same if you want to get it.
I say this because even though I got a Free "Compact" version of this software, they still gave me the BartPE plugin files I needed to create the CD.
So anyone should be able to ask for it.
Hope this helps.

To add BR10 as well as one of the PM 10's:
1. First add PM 10 to the files you extracted from the boot.wim with 7 zip as in previous post.
[If you are using the 7 x86 installation files - folder 2 in the extracted files is the correct one.
Update:
When adding PM 10, you only needed to copy in prg.iso and qtp-mt334.dll, because win 7 already has msvcp60.dll and msvcrt.dll. ]
2. Start the BR 10 you already have installed and click Tools>Settings.
Untick Hot processing options.
215756
Set your preferred compression level ( I suggest Normal)
215754
Set the rest the way you want - I suggest skip o/s auxiliary files and archives , but don't exclude anything else ( it takes a long while to build the exclude list everytime in winpe).
215755
Then close BR 10.
3. Next, create a folder called BR in the "sources" folder of the files you extracted with 7 zip from the boot .wim.
4. Copy and paste these BR 10 files into the extracted files\sources\BR folder you just made. ( You don't need to copy the ISO ).
215757
5. To access both PM10 and BR10 easily, copy this .ini into the extracted files\sources\program folder. (That is the PM 10 program folder you copied in previously ). It will overwrite the explauncher.ini which is already there, and give you the extra menu options.
215758
(remove the .txt extension so you have Explauncher.ini )

One question...
I have Win7 64-bit OS installed along with the 64-bit versions of BR10 (PM10 not yet installed), so will I still be able to use the installed Paragon files I have with the 7 x86 installation files?

Yes, they are are 32 bit code programs - only the drivers you have installed on 7 x64 are 64 bit drivers.
Have a look in "C:\Windows\SysWOW64" for the prg.iso and qtp-mt334.dll
As you will be booted into 7, you can try and see if this does the job for you:
http://cid-b0a22789320e3247.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/pe/7pecreator.7z
It should do everything in about 3 mins. You need to rt click and run as admin on the 7clickonme.cmd.
If you are not booted into 7 , you need to use this instead - takes a few mins longer, but it does the same job:

Thanks very much for your efforts to help, but what exactly am I getting here if I run these?
I'm guessing they are designed to build a Win7 PE from my installed OS files but what about Paragon BR10? I'm afraid these things often need spelling out to me ???
Sorry for being a bit slow
My actual goal is to get a working, user friendly rescue CD, that will enable me to recover either individual partitions, or the whole disk, from previously created images. I've tried both Macrium Reflect Free and Paragon BR10 but I'm unable to get either of their respective rescue CD's to work successfully with my system (I can only guess it's something to do with SATA drivers or maybe my MoBo?) I know Win7 has it's own Backup & Recovery feature but from what I've read, it's not ideal in this situation.
(Edit: OK, I've had a closer look at the 7z files and I'm guessing they are designed to collect and compile the appropriate files from the versions of PM10 and BR10 installed in a Win7 x64 environment. Not sure what stage in the process this will this get me to though? Prior to the stage of needing to use vlite maybe? Looks like there's a lot going on there, not least effort on your part!)

Hi,
If you are in windows 7 already - which you are, the 7pecreator will use the 7 x86 installation files (which you need to copy and paste from the dvd/iso onto your hardrive - and the Paragon apps. you already have installed.
It creates a bootable cd with the Paragon functions on it.
It works superbly on my machine, when booted into 7 x64.
You do need to get a copy of the 7 x86 dvd/iso. The 64 bit recovery environment is not much use for adding extra apps. to.
It works great when booted and used to work on a 64 bit o/s.

February 28th, 2010, 05:49 PM
You can copy the windows files from the dvd onto any partition you like. Just put the 7 32 bit dvd in the drive - rt click it , select Copy, then paste onto any partition ( it takes a few mins as it needs to copy almost 2.5gb ).
You will have a folder called "GRMCPRFRER_EN_DVD".
Download 7pecreator - rt click it select Properties>Unblock>Apply>OK.
Then rt click and select extract.
It will be extracted into a folder called 7pecreator. Inside there is 7clickonme.cmd. Rt click that and select Run as Adminstrator.
It will ask you to browse the boot.wim .
Inside the GRMCPRFRER_EN_DVD are more folders. One of them is called "sources". boot wim is in there.
Then it will ask you to browse to the launcher.exe of your Paragon Pm product and do the necessary actions.
You can also add in BR 10 and Easeus Data Recovery Wizard ( if you have it - it's not a requirement).
Should only take 3-4mins to do the job.
Let me know how you get on. I have only tested it on my installations.

7pecreator is a 7zip file. You can use 7zip ( it's free) to extract it.
Download 7zip x64 msi from here

Hi SIW2,
OK, I tried running 7pecreator and everything seemed to go according to plan until the final stage of trying to burn ParPe.iso to a CD. When I clicked the button to burn the image I received an error message saying [sic] "disc image file is invalid". I do have a folder named "PARFILES" created on the HD containing the following folders/files :-
boot
efi
sources
autorun.ini
bootmgr
setup.exe
(total 205MB - I included PM10 and BR10)
Couldn't find any sign of ParPe.iso though?
SIW2
March 1st, 2010, 10:34 AM
Thanks for the update. It appears to have skipped making the iso stage.
Parfiles 205 mb total sounds right.
All you need to do is make a bootable iso image of them .
Sope
March 1st, 2010, 03:22 PM
SIW2,
I used ImgBurn to create a bootable iso image with the contents of the PARFILES folder (using a boot image extracted from the original Win7 x86 disc).
It successfully boots to the Win7 install screen (in Virtualbox) but here's what I get when I enter "go" in cmd
215793
After investigating further, I found nothing in the created PARFILES\sources folder other than boot.wim
I tried manually adding go.cmd along with all the relevant PM10 and BR10 files as you specify in your earlier posts, to the PARFILES folder. I then created another iso file as before but I still receive the exact same error message as in that screenshot.
7pecreator asked me to select the launcher.exe's of each Paragon app as expected but it doesn't seem to have included any Paragon files in it's output. Likewise, no evidence of go.cmd either.

March 1st, 2010, 05:44 PM
SIW2,
I decided to try to create a disk containing both PM10 and BR10 manually as per your previous updated instructions.
Although I modified this command -
imagex /boot /compress max /capture E:\TEST\1 E:\boot.wim "Paragon Winpe"
...to this -
imagex /boot /compress max /capture H:\TEST\2 H:\boot.wim "Paragon Winpe"
....to suit my setup.
I then created the iso image using ImgBurn (used the Win7 x86 boot image again).
Everything seemed to go ok...........but
When run in Virtualbox I now get this error message -
CD BOOT: Cannot boot from CD - Code: 5
Unfortunately I'm struggling with all this especially considering I'm new to Virtualbox and ImgBurn :doubt:  ???

Thanks for the feedback.
Please try this instead :

Hi SIW2,
Brilliant! You're a star!
7pecreatorV3 works perfectly! ;D
It ran all the way through, including burning the CD, without a hitch.
The instructions and messages it gives along the way are great too, clear and simple and easy to follow.
The created CD boots and works beautifully on my system.
I've also tested the iso image within a Virtualbox VM and it works exactly as expected.
Thanks very much for all your efforts and for persevering with this. It is exactly what I was looking for, and more than I expected.
I really am very grateful.

New versions here:
To create Winpe2.1 or WinPE 3cd/flash including your installed Paragon apps.
If you are booted into Vista/XP use this version:
http://cid-b0a22789320e3247.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/pe/ParpeMakerVXP.exe
If you are booted into Win 7, use this version:
http://cid-b0a22789320e3247.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/pe/Parpecreator7v5.exe
Instructions are the same for both versions:
1. Copy the contents of the 32 BIT Vista/7 install dvd , OR 32 BIT Win7 repair disc onto your boot partition ( the one you are currently booted into, usually C ).
2. Rt click and run as admin on the ParPeMakerVistaXP.cmd,
or if you are using the Win 7 version, rt click and run as admin on Parpecreatror7.cmd
3. You will be asked to browse to boot.wim inside the "sources " folder of the windows install/repair disc files you have just copied onto your partition.
4. Then you will be asked to browse to the launcher.exe of the Paragon product you wish to include.
Note the Paragon product must be installed already.
You can include Paragon PM 2010 Free, or PM10 Personal, or PM9.5. You can include as well , or instead , B&R10 Free, or B&R10 Compact.
The windows 7 version ( parpecreator7 - which you can only run from within Windows 7 ) also offers to add 32 BIT drivers to the WinPE 3.0 media.
IF you don't have the install/repair disc to hand, The 32 BIT Win 7 ( WinPe 3.0 ) Repair disc is available for download from here:

I just joined the forum and pls help me fix my PC.
In short,
I have been using Paragon Drive Backup 8.5 Special Edition for a long time.
Recently my Windows crashed, luckily I have a backup of Drive C: from not so long ago. I tried to restore from external USB to Drive C: but it won't let me restore because of drive is being used by the system.
Now I think BartPE can help me do the restoring. I created BartPE CD but could not find Paragon Drive Backup 8.5 SE plugin anywhere. Even the company's website rejects my registration email.
Can someone guide me please?? I just want to download Bart plugin at this stage and see how I go.

Yes you can install many paragon inside - no point in putting too much in there as it will get quite big.
To do this :
-{ Quote: "Copy the contents of the 32 BIT Vista/7 install dvd , OR 32 BIT Win7 repair disc onto your boot partition ( the one you are currently booted into, usually C " }-
1. Put the Vista/Win 7 recovery cd in the dvd drive.
2. Rt click the dvd drive and Select COPY.
3. RT click your hard drive ( e.g. C ) and PASTE.

SIW2 at the time of this writing i was unable to download your parpecreators as the site told me that the bandwith limit was exceeded.
For those who are interested, I have a made plugin that will autorun the command to delete the registry key after the PE
enviornment is loaded. I found it a real pain to delete it manually every time.
And by the way, thanks to ParagonTommy for taking the time to write the plugin for BART PE. And thanks to SIW2 for all of his efforts and making his parpecreators.
This works on XP only.
1.
Create a new Directory in the PLUGIN Folder named fixdb9x
by default it will look like this:
C:\pebuilder3110a\plugin\fixdb9x
2.
copy 218514 and 218515
onto the fixdb9x folder and remove the .txt extension.
3.
make sure autorun is enabled. open the ..\plugin\autorun\autorun.inf
with notpad and make sure Enable=1
it looks like this :
[Version]
Signature= "$Windows NT$"
[PEBuilder]
Name="Startup Group"
Enable=1
Help="autorun.htm"
Version=1.0.5
This plugin uses autorun to execute the batch file automaticly as soon as
the BART PE is loaded. It is basicly like the startup folder in the Start menu in windows xp.

Hello. I purchased B&R 10 Suite a few days ago and downloaded the WinPE based Recovery CD executable "Paragon-140-PRE_WinPERCD_10.0.11.11844_001.exe". Ran it, created a recovery disk and successfully booted from it. Done!
Is this thread basically for Paragon users with older versions or products that don't include link to WinPE auto-create executable? It looks like Paragon Tommy is talking about Drive Backup 9 so I skip that. Then SIW2 adds instructions for creating WinPE using Partition Manager 2010 free which is also not relevant for me. And many more posts after that...
Is there anything buried within this thread to further enhance my automatically generated WinPE disk?

Hi Mike,
Really it is for those who don't have the Paragon Winpe disc.
If you have that , you don't need an alternative version, such as bartpe.
There are some who want another boot disc as well, e.g. the bartpe can run on machines with less ram , the winpe you can make with the little app. I posted includes a few additional functions, e.g. password blanker, command prompt and so on.
( I must update that soon ).

Question for Paragon rep; why Paragon doesn't create the BartPE bootable cd,or however you want to call, so the user will just click or insert the disk and the intallation, boot will happen?!? You are the programers? All that c... how to use BartPE is not for regular user, or for people that are too busy to do that job for you. It is your product, Backup and Recovery, don't pass the buck, just offer all the ingredient and pieces for that product to work. Cause if I got to buy a car, they don't give the wheels packed separately and they ask me to put them together and fix to the car. That's ridiculous...same for the others that go the same venue like Macrium.
SIW2

You need XP to make a Bartpe cd.
Paragon would have to pay microsoft for the bartpe cd's .
That's why they can't give them away.

Make a winpe3 paragon iso with your installed Paragon product:
1. Download the 32 bit windows 7 recovery iso ( if you are using 64 operating system - you still use the 32 bit iso )**
http://neosmart.net/blog/2009/windows-7-system-repair-discs/
http://cybernetnews.com/windows-7-recovery-disc/
2. Rt click the iso and extract it to your drive with 7-zip. (http://sourceforge.net/projects/sevenzip/forums/forum/45797/topic/4492007)
You should then have a folder on your drive , e.g. c:\myfolder containing this:
226588
3. Download the newpecreator file from here:
http://cid-b0a22789320e3247.office.live.com/self.aspx/Par/NEWPECREATOR.7z
Rt click and extract with 7-zip.
4. Rt click pecreator.exe and run as adminstrator.
It will ask you to browse to boot.wim, you will find it in the "sources" folder of your extracted iso ( see pic above ).
It will mount the boot.wim
It then asks you to browse to the Launcher.exe of your installed Paragon product - you will find it in the Paragon "program" folder.
All the necesaary files will be copied, registry settings and other adjustments made automatically.
The wim will be unmounted - It will take about 2mins to do all that.
It will then create and burn the iso for you.
Boot it up and you get this:
226589
226590
226591
This is intended for the free B&R 11 ,
http://www.paragon-software.com/home/br-free/
but it should also work for any of the 10, 2010, 11, 2011 Partiton manager, Backup and Recovery, and Hard Disk Manager products.
**NOTE: If you have already run off the 32bit windows 7 recovery disc - you don't need to download it.
You can just put the 32bit system repair disc you created in the dvd drive , rt click , select COPY , then rt click the drive and select PASTE.
(32 bit windows 7 users have an option to do that -type create in start search box and click "Create a sytsem repair disc " when it pops up ).

I have no idea how to make a winbuilder script.
I make my own pe builds
If you already made something with winbuilder - you can add paragon manually.
Just mount the boot.wim , create a folder in Program Files called PAR .
Copy these from your installed paragon app. into the PAR folder.
NLS
Program

You also need to make sure the "program" folder contains prgiso.dll and qtp-mt334.dll.
They will be in your installed windows \system32 or sysWOW64
You would want a shortcut of some kind as well - not sure how you do that with winbuilder made pe.
Probably just drop one into the mounted wim USERS\DEFAULT\DESKTOP
Unmount the wim with commit.
You're done.

You don't get that message if you add paragon to the bog standard boot.wim ( from the 32 bit 7 install dvd ).
Therefore , must be something missing in your winpebuilder made pe - might be a component - more likely a registry issue.

can you tell me which registry needed for pe?
i have added these
-{ Quote: "reg_add,0x7,"%reg%\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{71A27CDD-812A-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F}","UpperFilters","hotcore3"
reg_add,0x4,"%reg%\ControlSet001\Services\hotcore3","Type","1"
reg_add,0x4,"%reg%\ControlSet001\Services\hotcore3","Start","0"
reg_add,0x4,"%reg%\ControlSet001\Services\hotcore3","ErrorControl","1"
reg_add,0x2,"%reg%\ControlSet001\Services\hotcore3","ImagePath","system32\drivers\hotcore3.sys"
reg_add,0x1,"%reg%\ControlSet001\Services\hotcore3","DisplayName","hc3ServiceName"
reg_add,0x1,"%reg%\ControlSet001\Services\hotcore3","Group","PNP Filter"" }-

I don't include any of those - that is only used if you need a copy-on-write driver to run in windows ( instead of VSS ) - not needed in pe at all.
I do not add any registry entries for Paragon . It just runs fully portably.
The message you are getting indicates there is something about your pe build that is stopping paragon from operating properly.
I do not know what it is - probably some of the registry entries you did when you made your pe in the first place.
I can post up the entire registry of my own pe build, if you like.
It includes Explorer, Sound , Video, themes, Aero, etc.

I tried to make a winpe3 paragon iso according to #97, but ended up with this message when booting from the cd and tried to run Paragon B&R 11:
"Launcher.exe - Entry point not found"
"the pocedure entry point ?size@QFile@@UBE_JXZ could not be located in the dynamic link library qtp-mt334.dll"
Maybe I need to be running Win7 on the computer to make this work?
I made the winpe on a Dell Dim. 8300 running Win XP.
However all the other apps on the cd seem to work.

Sounds like you have the qtp-mt334.dl from series10.

You should have qtp version 3.3.4.10 on the cd.
Boot it up and have a look.
It should be in x:\program files\PAR\program folder.
Earlier versions of paragon kept qtp in system32 ( or syswow64 if you are running 64 bit o/s ) - so pecreator. copies that across if it finds it .
If qtp is missing - or if you have an earlier version, e.g. 3.3.4.9 - you will get those messages.
That might happeen if you had a previous version of Paragon installed and qtp from that is still in system32 ?

I have an old version of Paragon Drive Copy (v.8 PE) installed and I found qtp-mt334.dll v. 3.3.4.1 both on the CD and on the HDD in the system32 folder.
Should I replace the file in the system32 folder with the newer v. 3.3.4.10 and do the procedure all over again to burn a new CD? Or is there a better way?
