Hi,

I just bought and installed Drive Backup 9 professional on a Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit system. I downloaded both the 32-bit and the 64-bit edition, but I'm pretty sure I installed the 64-bit one. But when I look in the program folders, it has installed in the (x86) one, where I thought only 32-bit programs would install. Can anyone confirm that the 64-bit Drive Backup edition install itself into the (x86) program folder? And also, is there a way to check within the program itself if it is the 32-bit or the 64-bit edition?

Many thanks in advance.

If it installed, it is the 64 bit compatible version.

The program is not written native 64 bit - obviously it has 64 bit drivers.

That is why it installed in Program Files (x86).

Should work really well - it is a great program.

Hope it helps.

Thanks. If the 32-bit version won't install in 64-bit windows, then I must have installed the 64-bit one. Does anyone know how to check for sure, save uninstall, download and install again?

It is definitely the 64 bit compatible version.

The 32 bit version simply will not install on a 64 bit o/s.

You would get a message saying that if you try.

Thanks. It's usually not a problem to install 32-bit software on 64-bit windows, so that's why I wasn't entirely sure. The other way around will not install. Did you try to install the 32-bit version on 64-bit windows?

Yes, and you get a message it won't install under this o/s.
