is it safe to use a pim software? - what if the software claims to be checking for updates on the internet, but is actually sending out your information
which pim software do you recommend?
thanks.

I use Efficient PIM (http://www.efficientpim.com), after trialing several i liked it most.
It has an automatically check for updates option at startup, or you can disable it which means you need to manually click to check for updates. However i don't check through the program at all, when i'm notified of a new release i go to the site and download it.
I know it never calls out behind your back, it's never made a peep for outbound access.
A PIM is more a personal thing where you settle on something depending on your needs but another popular one is Essential PIM (http://www.essentialpim.com) (similar name).
