I installed a trial version of NOD32 home edition on a Windows XP machine a few weeks ago and it has been nice and unobtrusive, but today I installed NoMachine NX client and attempted to connect to a linux host using it. I couldn't get it to work and I suspect NOD32 is the cause, but I haven't tried to connect via a mchine without NOD32 installed yet.

I also had problems using XMing to run an XDMP session. The performance was decidely sluggish, and again I suspect that the reason is NOD32.

Is there a workaround for this issue?

Hello Mintz,

To make sure it is the ESET software that is causing the problems, uninstall NOD32 and then see if you have the same issues.

Does unticking the "Enable HTTP checking" checkbox make a difference?

Just for the record i use Nod32 4.0.437 and the NoMachine NX client without any such problems. My OS is Windows 7 Enterprise x64.
