They mean the same thing. It can be used on 3 computers at the same time..

I would think that with the introduction of V9 there would be some good sales on V8. In the past there have been rebates that resulted in zero cost.

Jerry

That's a good deal for the suite but I'm more interested in the standalone AV version, so I'm glad found the Purplus site before. Thanks Johnny ;D :thumb:

What does purplus support say about this

Purplus to their credit have been good - they've apologised and offered a refund in the next 24 hours as they can't supply new keys.

Kaspersky support stated that keys were blacklisted due to 'unauthorised reseller / distributor'. As a goodwill measure Kaspersky included a discount code in the support ticket.

I must stress that no money has been lost, both companies responded quickly to all tickets / emails.

I hope they can sell the keys in the future. I never had any issues with them in the past. I don't know how much they charge for shipping, but their packaged retail/OEM prices are low as well. Hopefuly they will get this resolved with Kaspersky soon because downloads are so much easier and quicker.

Then this would be another too good to be true case.

Even so, and considering the goodwill intentions of Kaspersky, I'd still try buying from Purplus for the first time soon ;)

They may be a little late paying Kaspersky who knows. May be better to buy the packaged items for now. I know I have bought several digital download licenses from them the last couple of years with no issues. May be best to email them and ask them what is going on with the digital downloads before buying one.

Your experience counts, that's why as I said before I wouldn't hesitate buying from them directly when my current license expires.

Good advice ;)

a friends kis key was blacklisted also and it was A FULL RETAIL boxed version from best buy!!!!!!!!!! he sent a support ticket 3 days ago and still nothing no response at all on it. he is going to try calling tomm. but this is ridiculous. even a few over at the kas forum had keys blacklisted who bought from various retailers and even one i saw who said they bought right from kas' own web site.

IMO those keys they all are valid ones when first purchased, but then they start being misused and shared with everybody that you can imagine which of course then is detected by KL..

Amazon has the KIS 2009 3 user for $18.99 right now. http://www.amazon.com/Kaspersky-Internet-Security-2009-User/dp/B0018EI3I8/. If you order a total of $25 you get free shipping if eligible.

Also keep your eye out at buy.com as I grabbed the same thing with free shipping for $8.99 last week 8).

At either place deals change regularly so act quickly when you see a good price.

Well I understand they have to be vigilant with all the piracy, but if what you say is happening often then that is bad for business. I don't know about you, but if I bought a brand new sealed package and the key was blacklisted I would be ticked off a little. Especially with no response for 3 days. I would take that back to best buy and get something else.:D Of course Best Buy sells it for about $59 so I wouldn't buy it there to begin with anyway.;D

If a key was purchased from the eStore and the user can prove their key was genuinely purchased a replacement will always be issued. However in most cases when people say they have bought from the eStore and have been blacklisted it is not the case...

Also keys can become blacklisted if they are shared amongst friends (KL know exactly how many times a key has been used)... or if the computer date was set incorrectly before activation/and or changed afterwards...in which case support will reissue a new key obviously.

Whilst waiting for support activate the 30 day trial to keep yourself protected...

this was A BOXED version bought at best buy off the shelf. he has a home desktop and a office pc. no they are not both in the same house but both are his. he has not even used all three yet. he did contact them and now today 4 days this makes has recieved no response this was not bought online or was not a estore etc purchase. as said in the thread i posted others have said the same thing. imo not cool no offense but he is a close freind of the family and i saw the box and receipt from best buy with my own eyes

please note im not at all knocking the product itself i actually like kis myself.

I understand, I'm just saying if he has the box etc then there is no question, the key will be reissued.

i dont doubt that but 4 days to respond to this is not good at all... he sent 2 emails one the day it happend and one the next day since he did not hear back and still nothing so now he will try to call but it should not be so hard to get this done imo
