All I know, and really that isnt much, that between,

Geswall
DefenseWall
ShadowDefender
Sandboxie

the first one that can bring 64 bit protection to the table will be the one I go with. 4 proven winners that cover just about all without issues.

-{ Quote: "Also, for my purposes, Sandboxie seems to be the only one that can truly provide bullet-proof protection." }-By that admission, I assume that you download a lot of programs and/or go to sites that are exploited often, or you actually like to test malware.

I have Sandboxie, but I rarely use it. In fact, this browsing session whilst in Wilders isn't sandboxed. I don't think it needs to be. However, I have used Sandboxie to test some of the rogue software we've been discussing in other threads, and I agree, it is useful in that regard.

I guess a lot of it does depend on what you do and where you go online. I know and appreciate legitimate sites can fall prey to malware/exploits, but excluding that factor, it seems to me that the rest of it is down to the user.

I completely agree. There's something to be said for having your session securely erased, excluding exclusions of course. Policy sandboxes cannot do that.

sandboxie itself does not securely erase any thing if you mean privacy issues.

Yes, I do the same. I force all browsers in SBIE, but I have a shortcut for Kmeleon that I use everyday to check preferred websites like Wilders. This instance of Kmeleon is not sandboxed. If I want to browse some site I don't normally use, I have a context menu item in Kmeleon that lets me open the link in a new window in SBIE.

Sandboxie by itself does not secure erase, you're tight. But it can easily be configured to make use of both sdelete and Eraser.

You are right.

BTW it,s personal liking but I have never reached to the paranoia of secure delete so far and I doubt if I will ever reach that stage. I feel relaxed with less work and hassle.

But therein is the beauty of SBIE, everything is done automatically so there is no hassle. Configure it once and you're done.

That, and 64-bit will not be supported by Sandboxie.

i dont think i will get 64bit anytime soon, and by the time i will, maybe there will be some revolution in internet security, where it isnt so much of a problem, i tend to rather think about the now than the future. geswall is protecting me now and thats what matters.
