View Full Version : laptop shuts down when doing a Virus scan

Hi
I have NOD32 v4. I seem to be having problems when i do a virus scan. Half way through the scan the machine shuts down.
Can anybody help...

disable autoreboot and post error message. did you notice what file or folder is crashes on?

Hi thank you. i shall try doing it again to see which file is causing it.
i have windows XP but I am assuming I can set this up the same

It shuts down (like the normal way XP shuts down) or it simply "crashes" and reboots ?

The CPUs goto 100% and the machine just switches off

Have you checked your hardware ? Last week I had such a case with a client - the problem turned out to be hardware related.
To ensure it is not the OS you could also try to boot from a bootable media such as some bootable CD/DVD
