According to Trend Micro's Tokyo office, Japan has suffered more virus incidents in the first 6 months of 2002 then in all of 2001. Last year, there were reports of 25,644 virus infections. So far in 2002, there have been 28,938 virus infections.
Trend Micro believes that the increase is attributed to the rapid adoption of broadband by the private sector.
