I usually retrieve my emails via POP via an email program. Recently I am working at two locations and need to check emails at both ends. My preference is to continue to have everything on my main pc and only use the other location for checking and quick responses.
I know the difference between POP and IMAP and am familiar with Webmail - I am confused with the config in my email programs with respect to downloading emails from the server.
My intention was to download at my prime location as before with "delete from server" but to set up the secondary location as "leave on server". However this does not seem to work reliably. Perhaps this relates to the sub-option "until I permanently delete them" (ie the messages). When and how would I use this option? I just tried to test this with webmail by receiving the email in my normal email program, then deleting it in there did not do anything in my webmail program (which I suppose mirrors the server).
Any ideas?
