News on ESET for Exchange Server 4.0

I emailed ESET asking if they had any updates on V4 for Exchange Server, and this was the response...

AFAIK that's one of the features - it's a complete overhaul of the AV, but includes Anti-Spam and a Firewall too - to replace XMON. The last I heard it was labelled ESET Mail Security for Exchange Server 4.0.

Fingers crossed we'll see it this quarter or the next! :D

We resellers have been told so much about new MS Exchange version that I no longer trust any word on this matter . Not until I see it with my eyes (something like public beta).

Seem to be getting a few customers with spyware is this due to them running V2.7? - sorry slightly off topic.

Well I spoke to ESET on the phone a few weeks back and the chap at tech support told me the beta and the final version would be coming out before the end of this year.

A beta AND the final version? In two months? Sounds too good to be true. Look how long the Cisco NAC has been in beta for (a few months) and now it's RC, but not yet released yet.

If you want up to date info on the beta I would suggest phoning ESET since non of the mods here know themselves by the sounds of things.

Development of the program is progressing as expected, and no dates have been announced for public betas, release candidates or general availability.

This information will be made ready when it is available and with sufficient notice to allow ESET's customers to plan and test their deployments.

I ask again here because in the sticky thread I'm not getting answers...

what about exchange 2010? I'm absolutily disappointing about beta version not supporting it... a lot of time for having a new version and it doesn't work with the latest version of exchange...

not to mention it even says it is supported on the beta page. It would've been nice to test the Exchange component with Exchange 2010, looks like I am going to just find a new AV or be stuck using ForeFront.

The next beta build will support Exchange 2010. Until now the developers have had only Exchange 2010 beta at their disposal. We couldn't forsee that MS would increase the build number and change API for the RTM version, hence it's not supported in the current ESET Mail Security beta.

thanks for the update, however you should take the Exchange 2010 support off the page if it doesn't support it or say it only supports RC and beta. This way people don't waste their time downloading and trying to install it :(
