Besides disabling Update notices, is there anything I can do to stop MS from

notifying me to install IE8? The original install in March went without issue but the Vista IE8 (which I never even use) update this past week reeked havoc. I completely removed IE8 and I don't want MS notifying me to install it! Thank You!

There is a setting in XP Antispy that should accomplish that.

ratchet, besides the Tester's suggestion, go back to Windows Update (http://update.microsoft.com), find the IE8 Update, remove the checkmark, click on the + button and select Don't show this update again.

I knew there was that type of option but just didn't notice (find) it. That happens to me a lot with Vista's theme! Thank You!
