-{ Quote: " Dear F-PROT users,

Development of the next engine upgrade is now nearly complete. If you would like to try out what will soon be available in F-PROT Antivirus for Windows, we are making the new FPAV Command Line Scanner (FPScan.exe) available here on the Forum.

This is also an opportunity to preview some nice improvements that have been made to the Command Line Scanner itself. Please note however that the online help articles on FPScan (CLS) are not yet updated, so run FPScan.exe -? in a command prompt to read details on parameters.

Version information:
Version 6.3.3.4804 (built: 2009-06-04T12-55-27)
Engine version: 4.5.0.81

So what is new in in engine 4.5.0? Here are just a few things:
Scanning inside NSIS (Nullsoft) installer files
Generic IFRAME exploit detection
Numerous additions to the Eldorado heuristic engine, making it significantly more powerful than before
Scanning of 7-Zip, ACE and "solid RAR" archives
Improved scanning of JavaScript files
List of detected malware now includes Eldorado heuristic detections
Much faster initial loading of ANTIVIR.DEF
Full Unicode support

Other improvements have also been made, as well as fixing bugs and closing windows of vulnerabilities. The feature list will be fully detailed once the new engine becomes available in our products." }-

Download available here (https://forum.f-prot.com/index.php/topic,1497.0.html).

Looks like the new engine for FPAV is not too long away now.

How come F-PROT stopped being tested at av-comparatives?

Because F-prot wanted this themselves.

AV-Comparatives is now a paid test ( earlier it was free ). So F-Prot doesn't pay, so its not tested ...

However, Authentium (which uses F-Prot engine) is a part of On-Demand test of Feb'09. But suprisingly missing from proactive tests of May'09.

No Authentium wasn't in either test this year

Yes, it is.
Go to : http://www.av-comparatives.org/comparativesreviews/main-tests

As reported see the Feb'09 report and you will find it. But they are missing from May'09 report.

PS: Authentium's AV is called Command Anti-Malware (http://www.authentium.com/mainv2/command.htm).
