I searched Google but could not find a "simple" or straightforward answer to my question.
How much bandwidth will be used for a phone call via Voip assuming 1 hour talk and average conditions. I don't need to know any exact figure, just interested in a rough approximate figure.

This is what Skype says in response to a question about bandwidth usage:

Actually, Roughly 70 Kbs if you are in a call with one person. This means you will get 500kByte per minute

so to be precise:

1 minute call at 70kbps consumes ~ 0,5 MB of bandwitdh
10 min ~ 5 MB
100min ~ 50 MB
