I have downloaded a file from Drive Snapshot called "setup.exe" and put it in a folder
called mydownloads. The file probably contains many programs and won't run as it
complains that the ZIP file is not found in "mydownloads".
How can I solve this problem?
Thanks for any help.

A file with a .exe extension is a Windows file. It is never going to run in a Linux distro.

Well you can always try to run the setup under WINE. Some installation will run.

But then again if the setup requires "Windows Installer" you might not be able to.

Even someone as Ubuntu illiterate as me should have realized that an .exe file wouldn't work in Linux.
I'll just go with the front end called Drivesnap. Hopefully in the near future this
will be a stable solution for a good backup.

If you're trying to backup a drive, you can do that from the bash shell.

Linux has no dearth of excellent backup utilities, out of many here is one that works well for Ubuntu and is in the repos http://www.debianadmin.com/backup-and-restore-your-ubuntu-system-using-sbackup.html
