I have win xp on c partition. I created E partition and installed Windows 7. After installing win 7 I realized I only had 2 GB free space. So I freed up some of d partition so I could increase E partition. It will not let me.
I have a red c on the top of partition. I am not sure what this is telling me. See attached screen capture.
Any suggestions?

Run chkdsk /f on the Windows 7 partition and make sure there are no file errors. At the end of the chkdsk, look and see if it reports any bad sectors. Both file errors and bad sectors will prevent DD from making changes to a partition.
