The whole reason for purchasing ADD is so I can use a 320GB HD on my eMachines m6811 laptop. Right now my laptop only sees 128 GB and there is no BIOS upgrade. FYI, I have Vista Business 64bit on the 128GB partition and Disk Manager only sees 128GB. I had tried using the DDO that Western Digital has, but it is not compatible with Vista. Anyways, Upon installing and bringing up ADD, I was excited to see that it saw the full size of the HD with around 171GB unallocated. I decided to create a partition with the unallocated space and assigned it a drive letter. I was able to bring up windows explorer and view the newly added partition. In my excitement I forgot to bring up Disk Manager to see if Vista had it listed there. I created a bootable cd and wanted to see what happened upon reboot. Upon rebooting, Vista would give me the BSD and reboot. I used the bootable cd bring up ADD. There were some errors reading some areas of the HD, but I was able to delete the newly created partition and boot into Vista without any further issues. Once I had Vista back up and started ADD, it could no longer see the full 320GB, just the 128GB. What gives? I had some work to do on another computer and came back hours later. I ran ADD again, and it could see the full 320GB. Very strange. I decided that I would use the bootable cd to partition the unallocated space. Well, the bootable cd only sees 128GB and now when I boot into Vista and run ADD from there, it once again only sees 128GB. Does it sound like I have a HD issue? I am running checkdisk now.
Any guidance would be great.
Thanks,
Rick
