Formating an entire hard drive

Cani I do this from the Disk Director program or should I do it from the CD I created? It seems to me if the program is running in Windows and the drive is wiped out it wouldn't work.

If you're just trying to format a partition, you should be able to do it in Windows as long as it's not the Windows partition. If DD has a problem locking the drive, then it will have to reboot to do the procedure. In those cases, I usually recommend booting to the DD CD and performing the procedure.
