View Full Version : Updates after resume from hibernation

I am using NOD32 V4.0.424 and on a couple of computers (one XP SP3, one Vista SP1) I find that the automatic updates fail the first time after resuming from hibernation. The task reports as having run but the status screen shows an error. I think the problem might be that the task times out during the few seconds that the wireless network takes to start talking. Once the computers are running a manual update always works first time and the hourly updates work too.

Has anybody else seen this problem?

semitone,

After hibernation people are either losing connection or internet connection stalls.

In your case as you have described, the update happens before you regain connectivity.

You can do a couple of things:

Standby instead of hibernation.
Adjust power management for you adapter
Create a schedule task for an event triggered or additional interval.

Hoping one of theses situation may work for you

Cheers!

Danny,

What I would like to do is create an update task that runs one minute after unlock but I can't see how to do it. There is an option to run the task after login but that is no good because the user is already logged in when resuming from hibernation. A one minute delay would guarantee that the network was alive again before NOD32 tries to connect.
