Yow! Whats this?!

This seems to be a rather funny problem...

Scanned my entire system yesterday using 4017 signature and no infiltrations or threats were caught. Upon scanning today, using 4018 signature, both googletalk setup and the google talk program have been listed as threats... Is this some bug in the signature update? I downloaded Google talk from the Google talk site.. and installed it nearly 6 months ago. Is something wrong here?

Are you running the latest version of googletalk?

Thanks for replying, funkydude. Its an old version... I cant find the version number but its pretty old... maybe the version from a year back... does the old version cause this problem? Should I uninstall the old one and install the latest one?

Considering the uninstaller is detected, what I would do is just grab the latest and install over it, please post back if it's still detected, as it is then a problem that needs fixed.

Thanks for helping me out, funkydude. I did as you said. Scanned using 4019 sig. No threats or infiltrations were found. Perhaps something in the 4018 sig caused this seemingly 'false positive' result?

That's also possible and maybe it was fixed, but at least your problem is resolved.
