Hello!

Is there option for automatic downloading updates for F-prot for Windows?

Where can I get AVP 3.5?

kloshar,

As for F-Prot: I do know someone wrote a script for that - can't produce more info since I don't have it around. Plase google for it.

As for KAV: have a look over here (http://www.avp.ch/E/downloadv2.stm).

regards.

Hi kloshar,

Do you mean F-Prot for Windows or F-Prot for DOS? F-Prot for Windows has a built-in Scheduler for updates like most AV products. There's a screen show of it in this thread along with a nice list of products features, as well as Pros and Cons:

http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=10006;start=msg65095#msg65095

When most people ask about automating F-Prot updates they are usually asking about F-Prot for DOS, which is why I asked. There are a few different scripts as Paul mentioned for automating these updates. See these two threads:

Thanx for the informations! I was thinking of F-prot for Windows, not for DOS.

How can I get my own *.key file to work in AVP 3.5? Is good key for Kaspersky 4.x, too?

As far as I know, the key file for v4.x does not work on v3.5. I'll suggest you drop Kaspersky or your reseller a support email for further assistance.

I am using AVP 3.5 on this laptop and the KAV 4.5 key- file works just fine here ;).

Take a look here as well, some more information about AVP 3.5;

http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=19251;start=msg118378#msg118378

This swiss AVP can be downloaded here;

http://www.avp.ch/E/downloadv2.stm

It works here on my XP system, but they do state on their site that

"it is not XP certified and therefore it may or may not run".

I stand corrected - thanks Blackcat (mmm...I didn't get it to work some months ago - I'll have to dig into this one myself - much obliged!)

Simply right click on the attachment, select SAVE AS, and then save to;

C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON FILES\AVP SHARED FILES and then reboot.

Make sure you have removed all traces of KAV 4.5 before you install AVP 3.5.
