Hello
Today I attempted to upgrade to the new version of William Hill Poker on the ipoker network and NOD32 reported it as a virus.
The message called it a variant of the Win32/PTCasino application but the system appears to be legit, is there any way round this?
Thanks
Garfy

Yes, that's correct. They use inaapropriate ways for distribution (e.g. by spam or malware). Note that it's detected as an unwanted application which means it's not malware in the true sense of the word and you agreed with detection of such files during or after installation.

It is not detected as virus.
It is detected as potentially unwanted application if you enable this option in the setup. If you didn't enable the option, it should be undetected.
The software is promoted via SPAM, it was a part of Trojan with rootkit, many people were redirected to the casino sites with the software after they installed false porno-codecs....
make your own opinion about that.

Ok, I understand now.
A moral call, do I boycott them for their dodgy business methods or say What the Heck! :)
Thanks

I know in 4.0 Potentially unwanted applications and Potentially unsafe applications are off by default.
If they both are turned off and iPoker is still being flagged....and you're feeling lucky tonight on poker.... 8)
....exclude the application.
How do I exclude certain files or folders from real-time scanning? (4.0)

Detection for UnSafe applications is off only (actually,it has been like that since v2.7) . One must manually choose if he/she wants detection for UnWanted applications during the installation of EAV/ESS v2,v3 and v4
