Is there a way to remove the Document Scanner plugin for Office 2007. Currently we are seeing some serious latency when working with Office documents against our MOSS 2007 server that did not exist in version 3.

We have tried disabling the document scanner in the version 4 configuration, but Office still prompts "Scanning for viruses" despite the document scanner being disabled.

I don't see ESET being one of the Add-ins for Word 2007, so I'm not too sure where to go to remove the engine from the Office apps.

bump...

is there not a fix for this problem? I would imagine it would be something as simple as unloading a dll file.

Did you disable document protection in the main setup? (press F5 -> Antivirus and antispyware -> Document protection and untick the appropriate checkbox).

Yes, but unfortunately word is still showing "Running Virus Scan" which didn't exist in V3. Because of this configuration, the whole document takes 5 seconds to load; longer coming from our MOSS2007 server which doesn't happen on V3.
