So, I want to resize my C drive- which has Vista32. I booted from the CD, the full version of DD does not recognize my drives, but the Safe mode does. I then try to add 27G to my C drive from my D drive (which has over 100G available. I hit 'commit', then a status bar comes up. Once the status bar completes, I get a screen that says something like "operation completed successfully". I reboot to my HDD and there is NO change in partition size. Nothing happened. Any suggestions? Thanks.

If you haven't, try doing the procedure manually: resize D: smaller, apply the change, resize C: larger, apply the change.
If you still have problems, run chkdsk on each partition and make sure there are no errors or bad sectors. DD won't resize partitions with bad sectors or errors.

thanks. i booted from the CD, resized D: (by 23G). Now I have 23G of Unallocated space. When I try to resize C: by 23G, DD won't let me use the 23G of unallocated space. What next.
Oh, ran chkdsk- no problems.

Were there any bad sectors reported by chkdsk on the C: partition?
Can you post a screenshot of what DD shows (in Manual Mode) for your drive? It may help to see it.
