Poll is missing the big brands.
Primary laptop, IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad T60P
Several other older T41s, T23s, T22s, and T21
2x Dell Latitudes
1x Vaio
Thinkpads are my favorite laptops...yeah not flashing looking (which to me is good)..but they're durable workhorses that can take a beating.
1 Latitude, the T60P, are the commonly used ones.
Older Latitude, the Vaio, and most of the other T series sitting in a pile....I have the T41 running my home firewall (PFSense), use the other T20 series for dorking around with *nix and some *nix router distros.

I have an older IBM Think Pad, with XP Pro on it and it is a real workhorse (it is pre Lenovo). It also has a docking station to hook up to a bigger monitor ect.

Just wanting to ask a question to all Sager/multiple brand notebook owners. How's the difference in quality when comparing Sager with other brands? I've never owned another brand before and Sager is incredibly cheap compared to others. Not saying the quality is bad tho.
Just wanting to know your opinions. :)

I'm curious why people still buy Dell. Here in the UK in has a seriously bad reputation for their equipment not lasting, and even now, a friend of mine has a Dell that only lasted a few months before requiring to call a technician to fix the broken motherboard.
Do people actually have a good experience with Dell? At least, I know of no-one that has. :(

Only the most reliable brand with the best rated customer service and lowest failure rate for the last 2 years. Asus. I have my Asus M50SV-A1 for gaming and my wife has an Asus EEEPC for school work.

ASUS, but it is the last time I bought it, along with GPU and motheboard I had, they have a pitiful software support. Also its notebook's design sucks. Asus cool comfort equals to overheating. So my next notebook is gonna be Acer or HP, Acer has many features for little money and HP has quality components like 7200 RPM HDD for the same price.

Making blanket statements about notebook brands is foolish - Acer is bad, HP is good etc. I have been so long in this business that I have seen stuff from every brand fail, sooner or later, in ways that is unacceptable. It all depends on which product line from a particular vendor you purchase, and then which particular model. Sometimes you are plain unlucky to be delivered a brick, which was caused by a faulty batch.
That said some trends do exist -
1. Business class laptops, though more expensive than consumer class, have better reliability.
2. Lenovo ThinkPads, Dell Latitudes, HP Pro/EliteBooks show considerably better sustainability.
3. More than brand, what actually matters is the quality of components - touchpad, network card etc. What the vendor can control is the design.
4. Fujitsu gets most of its machines built in Germany, and has better overall quality.
