Hi all,
My last review of Open Solaris 2008.05 was a rather negative one, exposing some glaring faults in the overall design, which I found unsuitable for a desktop operating system. Still, I have decided to give Open Solaris a second chance. To this end, I tested the latest version, 2008.11, to see whether the new release can solve the problems and offer new functionalities to the desktop user. In this article, you will find how well Open Solaris 2008.11 copes when it comes to live CD experience, installation and desktop usage covering drivers, sharing, multimedia, ZFS, and more.
So if you're interested:

Bottom line, OS 2008.11 is better than its predecessor, but more needs to be done.
Comments and suggestions are welcome.
Cheers,
Mrk
