I want to protect FF against zero-day but I want something that allows the seamless updating of extensions and FF.

I don't want to have to run FF as trusted or outside a sandbox to update.

I have FF set to auto-update extensions and I want that to happen as is now without me interrupting it.

Is there such a tool?

If not, any other suggestions welcome.

Currently running Avira 8 suite and SAS.

I use Web of Trust (WOT) and NoScript as addons to FF. If you want to protect FF itself you may want to consider something like ProcessGuard, DefenseWall or another HIPS type program.

You can try F-Secure Exploit Shield. Now support FF and free.

Try Mamutu or Threatfire ;D

Or use sandbox programs :thumb:

The Noscript extension will block the vast majority of malicious browser borne exploits.
With a quality BB such as Mamutu guarding the browser against manipulation you're pretty much bullet-proofed in that department.

I agree. In addition, Prevx Edge is also another very good choice.

NoScript and also be sure to check the option to warn you when sites try to install add-ons.
