3.0.672 clients not updating from RAS

Suddenly today my v3 clients are not getting updates from the RAS server 2.0.110. Nothing has changed on this system. v2 clients are updating ok and the signature running separately from RAS on the system is ok. Clients not getting updates from the server are updating ok also. All v3 clients updating from RAS are stuck at 3912.
I've tried firing an update event from the RAS options but has not seemed to help.
v3 clients reporting, "error downloading file from update server."

I think I got it fixed, but not sure what fixed it. First reboot didn't fix it, but then I scheduled a chkdsk, shut down the system completely. When it came back up I went to one of the v3 clients accessing RAS and ran a manual update which succeeded, then others appeared to start updating as well.
