View Full Version : False Positives

When I ran an ESET NOD32 "In-depth analysis" scan today, it detected:

C:\downloads\autoruneater\aesetup2.3.zip - Win32/Packed.Autoit.Gen application - quarantined - deleted

C:\downloads\a-squared\a2AntiMalwareSetup.exe - probably unknown NewHeur_PE virus [7] - quarantined - deleted

These 2 setup files for Ad-Aware and a-squared Anti-malware respectively were too large to check out at either virusscan.jotti, or at VirusTotal, but I believe them both to be false positives.

Thankful

Thank you, Thankful:

I posted this as an FYI, not because I have any doubt that these are FPs. I have been malware-free for many years, and as a paying customer, don't feel it is my job to do ESET's work for them, or send them the files. They have all the info they need to do their own homework. (No disrespect intended).
