Hello. I have a 64 bit Vista machine that came in here today with a new copy of NOD32 V3.0 to install with it. I understand it is fine to install this even though it is not the 64 bit version of NOD 32. Has there been any problems come from using 32 bit AV on a 64 bit machine.A quick Google search says that many folks do this ,then why is there a 64 bit version?. Thanks.

I have a 64bit CPU with a 32bit OS and 32bit NOD32. Works fine.

Thanks. But what about a 64 bit operating system?.

I think he is referring to running a 32-bit build of Nod on a 64-bit version of Windows. Since AV software uses kernel drivers, I would use a 64-bit build to match your OS. 32-bit code is claimed to be compatible with 64-bit versions of Windows, so it may work but I really don't see the point in doing that. Odds are you will also get faster archive scanning out of a 64-bit build.

You are correct. 64 bit Vista....32 bit Nod.
