Hi there

I just received my trial license for the company today and what a day. Right now I am trying to uninstall the Remote Administrator Server and gets a

"Fatal error during installation".

Why? and what should I do now? This is a new installed Server 2003R2.

I have tried to restart the server (not good, it's a live server). I have tried to disable the ESET services then restart, but still same error.

Is the event log giving a more descriptive error?

Hmm..there is an information, no warnings or alerts.

The information is:

Event ID: 11725
Product: ESET Remote Administrator Server -- Removal failed.

This is a great trial period. ;D 4 hours and allready problems and no telephone support - great.

This is ****ed.

Tried again. To install over the present installation. No problem, - restarted the server. Then ran the installer and chose "uninstall". AGAIN - error. A long long log file is to view.

Check HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SNMP\Parameters\ExtensionAgents\ to see if the key even exists, and then verify the key's permissions allow full control for System and Administrators. Verify the same on the two sub-keys as well.

Hi and thanks for your help

I have the key you say, and the value is:

SOFTWARE\ESET\ESET Remote Administrator\Server\CurrentVersion\SNMPAgent

I am not sure what you want me to do then?

You right click on the key, go to Permissions... and modify them the same way you would modify NTFS security permissions.

Oh, okay. I can see that both System and Administrators have full control. The permissions are inherited.

Are there any values in the ExtensionsAgents key? There should be a REG_SZ value named 0 in there containing the data "SOFTWARE\ESET\ESET Remote Administrator\Server\CurrentVersion\SNMPAgent".

The string of SOFTWARE\ESET\ESET Remote Administrator\Server\CurrentVersion\SNMPAgent has the REG_SZ value 13.

Are there no official ESET employee doing any support in this forum? ESET wants the customers to go to this forum, then I also expect ESET to help here? Not just customer to customer.

Hey thanks.

It worked when I deleted the string in the registry.
