SSM Replacement

I was a long time user of SSM free on my old windows xp desktop, before it blew up and I was wondering if there was a similar free HIPS program that runs good on Vista 32bit. Currently trying out Online Armor Free but would like any other suggestions you guys might have. Thanks

I've been reading the discussion about the translation of EQSecure and was wondering if there was any more news. Is there anyone that can tell me about Vista compatibility with EQSecure?

The translation issue only involves the 4 vers, the 3 vers is full translated to english.

Probably you want standalone HIPS, but since you mentioned Online Armor, at this point you could try Comodo firewall with D+. (the D+ is the classical HIPS module). It's free.

The other currently standalone classical HIPS out there is Malware Defender. But it's payware.

I was a long time SSM user as well and paid for the full version. I am now using Malware Defender which I have also purchased. It is money well spent. Malware Defender's rules (especially registry) are much easier to create and manage than SSM's were (at least for me anyway). Malware Defender is a great app!

My concern is that Malware Defender seems to be developed by a one person, also if is distributed by Torchsoft. And I find his GUI sometimes.. confusing: SSM and PS GUI were better.
