Computer Stops Booting Up on AGP440.sys

Recently, my computer has stopped booting up. The last driver showing while booting up is AGP440.sys. I changed my video card hoping this would solve the problem, but it has not. I am able to boot up if I remove all USB devices such as keyboard, mouse, but would like to be able to use USB. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Is there any way to disable agp440.sys directly in the registry rather than using
Microsoft Recovery Console? Using Windows XP Home SP3.

When you swapped video card I will assume you also changed the drivers(?).

I was going to suggest you unplug all USB devices and check your BIOS to see if it is set to halt on any USB error(s). Not sure it will help in this case though.

More info. such as OS, make and model of PC, type of graphics card = chip set would help. Are you running the latest driver from the OEM`s site.

Thanks for responding. Running a Dell Dimension 4550. Currently using ATI Radeon 7000. Unable to update driver, in process of submitting a ticket to ATI.

I saw that Microsoft article. Is there a way to disable AGP440.sys through the registry without entering Recovery Console? I know many people have this problem. Makes me want to buy a MAC and give the boot to Microsoft. I just want my computer to work without going through all this.

I believe you quoted the wrong post. RC referring to the Recovery Console.
