How can I add another partition under Returnil's umbrella? I have a C:\ and a D:\ partition. I am afraid that malware will infect the D:\ partition when using Returnil in protected mode.

Beta version?

No, beta neither. I ran beta for a couple of days and that option wasn't there. I had to go back to production until I learn Returnil better but am certain that wasn't there.

I expect Coldmoon will respond to your query too.

I MAY recall correctly that he has said protecting other partitions may be out on the development horizon somewhere.

-{ Quote: "Beta version?" }-TechOutsider, I believe I misspoke - it looks like perhaps the Beta IS offering protection for files/folders on non-system partitions. Check Coldmoon's Beta history here - if you haven't already: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=230103

Thanks, I'll be looking at user comments about the beta version; worried about stability and the inevitable bugs.

The File Protection feature in 2.01 uses tried and true methods that have been a part of Windows for a very, very long time. What RVS does is to restrict access, any access to the files, folders, partitions, and drives you add to the list until such time as the authorized user deems that protection to be unnecessary...

I cannot see my other partition(s) in the file protection.

Click the option to activate File Protection, then use the folder browse button to select the entire drive rather than an individual folder within it. You should see the drive listed in red in the list window...

Where's file protection?

Note: For the reader, this is slightly off topic for the release forum but as the subject of alternate partition and drive protection was broached already (yes by me...), I will allow it here for clarification.

The File Protection feature can be accessed directly from the main status window in the current 2.0.1 Beta (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=230103) version. The new section is directly below the Virtual Partition and just above the License information sections.
