Hi everyone. I need to find an all in one printer, scanner, and copier that's compatible with Linuxmint and Mepis Linux. Recommendations please? My goal is to totally ditch windows eventually. I currently have a "Lexmark p4350 all in one printer, scanner, and copier. This version is considered a dead weight in the linux world.

I'm currently printing everything to a pdf file. Transfering it to my flash drive, then I have to boot into windows to print it out. This is a real pain, and is getting old fast. If you know of a particular make and model that works please let me know. The scanner must work also. Thanks.

Even though I am a Epson fan, I would recommend HP to you in case you are considering using Linux, either that or get a Canon or Epson and buy the Turbo print which then will allow printing from any printer with your Linux OS.

Check for functional database here at http://www.linuxfoundation.org/en/OpenPrinting

You've gotta figure your question's been asked before. ;) Search specifically once you narrow the field. FAX I keep separate.

Older message, sensible:

My advice is best stick with Epson or some brand with good linux compatibility record. Stay away from those mark as work occasionally. The site may sometimes be too liberal with some printer. Ricoh AP2000 is indicated as a printer that works there but in reality it doesn't seem to work when come to specific situation."

Consider needs carefully, you can save a lot down the road. Ink/laser comparisons.

HP are the best for Printer drivers, Epson 2nd.
Pretty much any HP inkjet works, but when it comes to all-in-ones for ANY brand, quiet often the printer functionality works (and some people mistakenly assume the scanner part works as well), but the scanner part is unsupported.

Only get an All-in-one if you can get a confirmed report of printing and scanning working.
