7-zip unzip

I can zip fine with 7-zip. However I spent an hour trying to unzip a file
with no luck. It is my understanding that 7-zip does unzip zipped files.
Obviously I am missing something.

Right-click the zipped file and then hover over 7-Zip in the context menu and then click extract files. It should then bring up an extract to folder (usually with the same name) and then you click OK. If it needs a password, then enter it before clicking OK.

Im used to rar with packing(auto splitting), is there a guide for 7-Zip?

No. 7z doesn´t support the rar-standard.

To clarify a bit... 7-Zip can open RAR archives. But it cannot create them...
