View Full Version : 3D acceleration in virtual machines - Part 3: Linux host & guest - VMGL

Hi all,

This is the third of the three articles dedicated to configuring and using 3D virtualization in virtual machines.

So far, we have had DirectX support in VMware products and OpenGL support in VirtualBox, in both cases available only for Windows guests. The choice of the host platform did not matter.

What about Linux guests?

Yes, this was to be expected. I agree with your assessment that the alleged solution is actually a cockiness.

I think I will stick with Linux as my host system.

We will have to wait for Sun or VMware to come up with a nice solution.
I guess it will be soon.
